Verified — based on our interview with leadershipThe buddy scheme is the real deal. Every new starter, without exception, is paired with a named carer for their first six weeks — we spoke to a starter on week three who could tell us her buddy's name, phone number and her next shadowing shift. That's rarer than you'd think. Culture score is buoyed by a genuinely mixed team — ages, backgrounds, first-timers next to twenty-year veterans.
One thing we're proud of
“Every new carer gets a named buddy for six weeks. Their name is on the fridge. It's not admin — it's a promise.”

What we learned the hard way…
That inductions can't be a checklist. We rebuilt ours around a real person, not a folder.

First care job — my buddy Susan basically taught me the job. Six weeks of proper shadowing meant I felt ready when I was on my own.

Team culture is the best I've been part of. Christmas rota is done by asking, not by rank.

Leadership is solid, development sessions are useful. Only note: agency use crept up over the summer and morale wobbled with it — sorting now but was noticeable.
You're right, agency use spiked June–August. Down to two shifts a week now, aiming for zero by December.

I love the team but the building itself is tired — some of the equipment is old and slows us down on lifts. Not the team's fault but it affects the work.

Manager gives clear boundaries and backs the seniors. Never had a decision undermined in a family meeting.
